In
1994 HAWKFINDER developed the worlds first
medium-priced pocket size falconry telemetry system
based on industrial telemetry modules. That system
has been in continuous production ever since, and
last year a pair of new three & single stage
screw-top transmitters. Our new rectangular loop
spring prong, for both ST and open frame models,
reduces transmitter cross section by 20%, by
eliminating the need to tape on the clip.
The
transmitter produces a wide (60 or 120ms) square
pulse that does not degenerate to a barely audible
click at the limit of detection. You always get a
nice fat, clear tone. On all transmitters, there are
pulse rate options, allowing 2 transmitters to be
distinguished with a single channel system.

Hawkfinder
3-step Variable Audio Metering System
The
Hawkfinder VR1 receiver features a precision 3
step variable audio metering system. This consist
of a three step signal strength analyzer &
preset audio system. With traditional types of
tracker, you have to listen to the increase in
volume. But small changes in volume are difficult
to detect, particularly if the volume is set at a
high level to start with. This means that in windy
conditions, you have to work with the volume at a
low level, & so you have to resort to
headphones. The Hawkfinder has the volume
precisely set in 3 easily distinguishable steps.
As the gain is increased, signal strength at which
the sounder operates decreases. This gives rise to
a much wider control range - the only control
needed on the set. This system also uses far less
battery power (approx. 40 hrs of continuous
operation), and coincidentally, provides an auto
squelch function.

for shortwings & broadwings, exceptional for
owls, and adequate longwings (using Pulsar
transmitter).

system is custom-made & cannot be supplied "ON
APPROVAL"

if you are unhappy with the performance, simply
return it for upgrade to one of the
Skymaster
systems, which offer performance
comparable with other VHF systems. We won't even
charge you for the additional postage! |
